FEET Your pup's feet will
probably be very tender untill their pads toughen up,
so when going on walks, try keeping it to a short walk and increase a little
every time. Be sure to keep an eye on those pads. If the pads should get
worn, remember to keep them clean so infection will not set in and cut back on
the walks untill safe. You can also keep bag balm, or
doggy ointments and solutions handy, then cover with gauze or socks. Be sure to
keep it clean and try not to let the gauze or socks stick to the wound, as this
could cause pain when removed. You can tape socks over the gauze for added
protection and to help prevent chewing on the wound. Vet wrap or Duct tape, on
the sock itself, may help keep the sock from slipping off. Use caution when
using or removing Duct tape! |
