Date Posted：03/01/2009 5:11 PMCopy HTML Magic Meatloaf Ingredients - Approx 3 lb of lean ground beef, raw - Approx 12 oz jar of unsulphured molasses - Approx 18 oz of rolled oatmeal (i.e. Quaker) - Approx 20 oz jar of unflavored wheat germ (approx meaning the closest size container you can buy for that) - 1 box of "Grapenuts" cereal - 4 envelopes of unflavored Knox gelatine - 12 raw eggs, large - 1 tablesp of garlic powder How to prepare - Get a big plastic bowl, the smoother the better - Take off your wrist watch! - Preheat oven to 375 deg - Put all the ingredients in and knead until well mixed (Have someone standing by to scratch or wipe you nose which will undoubtly start acting up once your hands are nice and messy) - Get no-stick cookie sheet - Grab the mixture and begin forming "hamburgers" (I usually do about 4" dia and about 1" thick) and place on cookie sheet - Bake for about 20-25 minutes - check a few times for them being done, usually when a slight crust forms and a needle will come out clean when stuck in them - Qty should be around plus/minus 20 - Let cool - Keep some refrigerated, wrap the rest in alu foil and freeze, thaw and use as needed Makes a nice in between snack to put on weight. I've also used them for dogs that were so run down that initially they wouldn't eat. Oh, and mark the container in the fridge "for the dog" as otherwise hubbies might snack on them.... not that it would hurt them :) Much as I'd like to take credit I can't. Got this recipe from JP Youcha of Chromadane in TX, a well respected breeder of multi-titled harles.
