I had my first Dane (Willow, a merle) from 1996-2004. She died of bone cancer. I met my husband while I had her and got him hooked on Danes. We got our second Dane Maia (another merle) in 2005 and she is now 6 years old. We got involved in Dane rescue in 2008 and adopted our second foster Spencer (black) who is now 5 years old. A few months ago we adopted a fawn male Maverick who is 3 years old. We've fostered a total of 12 Danes (though one ended up not being a Dane at all) since starting with the rescue. We also have a 12 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier named Max, 4 cats, 2 parrots, and 3 snakes. Julie
